How to clear WER ReportQueue Folder
Windows Error Reporting collects and sends debug information to Microsoft through the internet, in case any application stops or crashes on any PC or Server. Microsoft analyzes this data and sends back a solution when ever it is available through Windows Error Reporting Response. Some times WER ReportQueue folder grows big, as some application keeps crashing and generating error reports. Windows Error Reporting runs as a windows Service and can be disabled if required, but if it is already consuming storage space, then you have to manually remove the error reports from WER ReportQueue folder.
Open the following Path:
You will see multiple folders with error reports, every folder has “Report.wer” file that has the error details.
You can manually clear the contents of “WER” folder, by select all (Ctrl + A) and press the delete button.
How to Disable Window Error Reporting:
To disable the Windows Error Reporting go to the Control Panel ==> System and Security ==> Action Center ==> Maintenance ==> Settings, then select “I don’t want to participate, and don’t ask me again” and click Ok.
As a result of the above settings, you will not have the headache of monitoring the error reporting files in WER ReporteQueue.
